Classic Shetland Sweepstakes Rules and Regulations
Nominating Stallions:
1) This sweepstakes is open to registered ASPC Classic Shetland stallions.
2) The stallion nomination fee is $200 per stallion.  An owner may nominate more than one stallion.
3) Stallions must be DNA tested through the University of Kentucky via the Classic Shetland Sweepstakes.  DNA forms and envelopes may be obtained from committee chair, Carin Ponder.  This is the stallion owners responsibility and at their expense($27.00/each).
4) The stallion nomination fee allows the stallion owner one free entry into the 2010 sweepstakes class.
5) Nominations are due April 1, 2008 and must be paid in full by June 1, 2008 (checks, money orders, Visa/Mastercard accepted).

7) Nomination fees are non-refundable.  In the event of stallion death or unsoundness, another stallion may be subsituted.

 
Mare owners:
1) Mares must be ASPC registered Classic Shetlands.
2) The mare that will be bred to the Sweepstakes stallion must be DNA tested at the mare owner's expense($27.00/each).
DNA for the current Sweepstakes class must be submitted by March 1st. (Weanling class 2008, March 1st, 08.  Class 2009, March 1st, 09. Etc.) DNA forms and envelopes may be obtained from committee chair, Carin Ponder.
3) Stallion owners may bid on their own stallions.
4) Bids will be accepted via email, phone and/or snail mail sent to Carin Ponder at
ponderingoaksstables@yahoo.com, 936-443-0566, or 12488 S. Fork Lane, Iola, TX 77861.
5) Bidder will be contacted if outbid and will have a chance to raise their bid or they may put in a maximum bid.  The bid increment will be $50.00.
6) Bids will be accepted beginning June 1, 2008 and will end on September 1, 2008 at 9:00 p.m.  Opening bid is a minimum of $200.00.
7) The high bidder will be contacted on September 2, 2008.
8) Bids must be paid for in full no later than September 15, 2008.  Payment will be accepted by check, money order, VISA, or Mastercard.  IF the high bidder fails to pay by September 15, 2008, the next highest bidder will be contacted.
9) A contact information sheet and reciept will be mailed to the high bidder upon payment of the auction.
10)Mare owner is responsible for all transportation fees, AI or chute fees, mare care fees, or other fees charged by the stallion owner (such as but not limited to veterinarian care, vaccinations, ultrasounds, etc).
11)It is the mare owners responsibility to contact the stallion owner concerning fees and/or other breeding requirements prior to bidding on a stallion.
12)The ASPC Classic Shetland Sweepstakes acts as an agent only and any agreements between the mare and stallion owner cannot be enforced by The ASPC Classic Shetland Sweepstakes or Carin Ponder.
